The Importance of HVAC Maintenance

A Message From The President

I would just like to take a moment to personally thank you for subscribing to the Nortek Environmental, Inc. Email Newsletter. With spring only a few weeks away, I'm sure many of us will begin our annual "Spring Cleaning" process and getting our homes ready for the warm weather. But did you know there are several ways that you can financially benefit from cleaning out your house? For starters, go through those boxes that you haven't touched in months. See if there is anything worth selling on auction sites such as Ebay or Amazon. And if you have enough unwanted items in your house, you can always start a garage sale! A quick cleaning process that you can do is make sure your furnace's air filter is clean, and if it's not it's time to replace. This will not only make your HVAC system breathe easier, but keep any large particles out of your air supply. Finally, cleaning out your car is always important too. By clearing up space in your car, you will lessen the amount of weight, allowing your car to consume less gas to function. It may be a small saving, but it could mean a few extra miles of travel!

Dear Justin,

Everyone knows the importance of bringing in our cars for an oil change after every 3,000 miles or 3 months. By bringing in our cars, we are allowing the technicians to change any needed fluids and do an inspection of our vehicles to detect any possible problems. However, did you know that, like your car, your HVAC system needs to be maintained as well? It's true. If you fail to have both your furnace and air conditioner maintained on an annual basis, you will be increasing the chance of a break down with your HVAC system. The average cost to repair your furnace or air conditioner runs between $319-$359. In today's economy, everyone is trying to save as much as possible. So why take the risk of getting a bill exceeding $300 that could have been prevented had you properly maintained your HVAC system? With spring just around the corner, now is the best time to call Nortek Environmental, Inc. and schedule a 22-Point Certified Air Conditioner Tune-Up, Cleaning and Inspection.

What does "Certified" mean?

A Certified Tune-Up means that if you're A/C breaks within 30 days after you've had Nortek Environmental, Inc. perform a Certified Tune-Up, we'll return to your home for FREE! (*See store for details)

How Can I Help Maintain My HVAC System Myself?

A great way to improve the quality of your HVAC system yourself is to replace your furnace filters on at least a monthly basis. Always remember that when changing your filter(s), it is extremely important to purchase the proper size. If the wrong size filter is placed into your system, it will allow air to leave the system, making your air purifying system useless. Also, this is a great energy savings tip. By changing your filter monthly, you will be increasing the efficiency of your HVAC system, which will reflect a decreased cost of running your system. If you are unsure how to change your filter, you can always ask one of our technicians while they are performing a Certified Air Conditioner Tune-Up, Cleaning, & Inspection.

Sincerely,
Lisa Averill
