By not locking your doors or windows, you are allowing your cooled or heated air to escape through and wasting money.

Proper Insulation HVAC Tip #2 - Plastic Film Covers for Your Window - Placing a clear plastic film over your windows can greatly help reduce heat loss during heating season. These plastic film covers can be purchased at local hardware stores and is a fairly inexpensive addition to your home to help insulate and reduce heated air loss.

Proper Insulation HVAC Tip #3 - Check the Seals Around Your Doors and Window - One of the easiest ways to make sure that you’re not losing your heated or cooled air is checking for air leaks around your doors and windows. For this, you just have to feel around your door and window seals to make sure you don’t feel any air flow. If you do, an easy fix is weatherstripping our caulking the seal to prevent air loss. This can often be an inexpensive change to reduce air loss in your home.
