An electronic air cleaner - the final requirement for clean indoor air?
In our prior newsletters we've discussed some of the components of managing indoor air. We've covered zapping with UV and moisturizing the air with the proper humidification. This month we discuss cleaning the air with an electronic air filter such as the Honeywell F300 air cleaner.
The nice thing about this unit is that it is a whole house solution. It traps and filters 98% of pollutants that pass through your heating and air conditioning system. Contaminants like smoke, dust, smog, mold and animal dander are captured into the filter. An electronic charges is placed on these particles and collects them like a magnet. The other great thing is that you won't have monthly filter replacements as you just put the air cleaner cells into the dishwasher for easy cleaning.
Compared to throw-away furnace filters, the Honeywell F300 "super cells" give years of high-efficiency air cleaning while requiring no recurring replacement costs and only simple cleaning maintenance. What does it cost to operate? Very little. The F300 uses about the same amount of electricity as a 40-watt light bulb.
This particular cleaner comes with an optional W8600F Air Purifier Monitor. This monitor is helpful to the user because it is able to give the user an update on the air cleaning performance. It lets the user know if the system is operating to its fullest potential. The monitor is almost like a “check engine” light that can come on in most vehicles that may need servicing.
The Bottom Line
With clean and fresh air circulating through the home thanks to the use of the air cleaner, you as the homeowner will be healthier and will have fewer reactions to allergens in the indoor air.
